Helping health and social care create digital first organisations

Managing the pressures and demands of health and social care services, and creating modern digitised services where data in opening shared amongst key organisations is the great public sector challenge of our times.

Health Services, through its digital first focus and Sustainability and Transformation Plans and Social Care, implementing elements of the Care Act and seeking to become more integrated and digital in its service delivery have many challenges.

Digital First brings a range of insight and solutions to help health and social care organisations.

This includes:

  • Helping redesign to digital front door for social and health care – creating common digital customer tourneys that better integrate services
  • Designing, brokering and helping build and implement personal budget and care marketplace solutions
  • Helping design, broker and build data sagging platforms between health trust, CCGs and social care organisations, bringing the power of our brokerage partnerships to the table
  • Helping disrupt service delivery models and challenge technology thinking in social care to design and deliver a better, more cost effective assessment and care management solution

Some of our health and social care customers include:

Harrow Council – we developed the business case for the commercial growth of its care marketplace – MyCeP and brokered its partnership with IBM to build out

Barnet Council – we helped the council understand the need for a care marketplace to manage its personal budgets and personal assistants model, ideally the commercial business case and digital ROI

Local Government Association – we shadowed the health and social care programme at the LGA to provide advice and guidance on emerging digital innovation in the sectors as part of helping to support local public services

CGI – we helping CGI understand and build its market position for health and social care through a market engagement exercise that helped assess the digital products and services in the health and social care sectors

In addition, Digital First is developing a Care Marketplace Solution that is built upon a service management, brokerage and technology platform that is designed to directly serve end customers, both personal budget holders and self-funders.  We are interested in potential organisational partners so please do get in touch.

Digital First has worked alongside the bi-boroughs of Westminster City and Kensington & Chelsea Councils (the Bi-Boroughs) to provide specialist advice in the design, development and benefits evaluation of a new Adult Social Care digital platform to improve service delivery and efficiency and deliver better outcomes for service users.

We collaborated with key operational, technical and policy staff across the two boroughs to assess the design and development of the emerging digital platform to identify, capture and quantify the range of opportunities and benefits that a fully integrated digital platform for adult social care services can deliver.

The implementation of the digital platform provides financial benefits which include large savings of up to £12.3m including 3rd party savings from contract savings, overhead savings, and income generation  for the bi-boroughs.
